TOXFIRE-a quick decision software

The TOXFIRE software is made to fulfil the needs of the fire officer. The software presents information on the warehouse, chemicals and products involved, and enhances the awareness of the environmental impact of the chemicals and combustion products released to the atmosphere or dissolved in the extinction water. The TOXFIRE is designed to be a modular and easy-to-use software. Each fire scenario can be identified in a decision tree, and consequences when mixing chemicals from different chemical groups and their extinguishing agents can be found from the inbuilt reaction matrix. The TOXFIRE also provides the user information on classification, possible known hazards and the corresponding action guidelines for individual chemicals in a chemical properties database. Furthermore, it helps to develop individual actions for separate risky locations using a target card database and a drawing tool.
